Basic Training in CNC Technology

This course provides you with basic knowledge about working in the machining industry as an operator of CNC-controlled machine tools. After completing the course, you will have a sufficient level of knowledge to proceed with one of our control system-oriented and machine-specific programming courses.

Previous Knowledge

No prior knowledge is required.

Course Content

  • What is CNC? What does a CNC operator do?
  • Machine structure
    Concepts, and terminology.
  • Control systems
    ISO code, codes for motion and auxiliary functions.
  • Basics of programming
    Drawings, tolerances, materials, and other influencing factors.
  • Path information
    Coordinate systems, axes and axis directions, zero and reference points, program structure, movements/direction of motion, and the most common G and M codes.
  • Programming sequence
    Method selection and workflow. Tool selection, cutting, and cutting data.
  • NC mathematics
    Simple equation solving, Pythagorean theorem, trigonometry, and cutting data calculations.

General Terms and Conditions

Payment Terms
Order confirmation and invoice will be sent within 10 days. Payment terms are 30 days net, however, payment is required at least 14 days before the course begins. Materials, lunches, coffee, and refreshments are included in the course fee.

Cancellation
If a participant cancels after the final payment date, a fee of 1740 SEK + VAT per participant will be charged unless a substitute is registered.

Duty to Inform
Each party is obliged to keep the other party updated with accurate information before and during the training. If there are any changes with the client that could affect the execution of the training, this should be communicated to Index Nordic as soon as possible.

Materials, methods, program modules, technical equipment, and similar items developed by Index Nordic are protected under Index Nordic’s copyright and right of use.
